Jerome Cloud, FSEGD

Design Principal

Jerome is founding principal in charge of design since its inception in 1986 and recipient of the prestigious SEGD Fellow Award for promoting the highest values in environmental graphic design. He has won numerous awards for his work. Jerome believes passionately in the importance of placemaking. He sees the imaginative integration of identity, research-based wayfinding and signage, interpretive storytelling and digital media as a powerful means for creating unique and memorable experiences.

Some of Jerome’s current noteworthy projects include the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum renovation, a major expansion of the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City, the Atlanta History Center and the National Desert Shield and Desert Storm Memorial in Washington, DC.

Educational and medical projects include a new gateway and vehicular system for Washington University Medical Campus in St. Louis, a campus system for Western Michigan University, The Catholic University of America and Temple University.

Community based projects include a new vehicular system for Mt. Airy USA, a coalition of seven of Philadelphia’s most beautiful and historic neighborhoods, design of an 80 foot interpretive corten wall for the recently opened Rail Park in Philadelphia and environmental enhancements for the Spring Garden underpass.

Parks, waterfronts and bikeways include a comprehensive bicycle network for the Denver to Boulder US 36 Corridor Coalition, Philadelphia’s 9,200 acre park system, the 86 mile Ohio & Erie National Heritage Canalway and Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library.

Internationally, he has worked in Atturaif, Saudi Arabia, the first capital city designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. CG has developed a comprehensive identity, bilingual signage and interpretive system for this national living museum.

Jerome is a member of the Society for Experiential Graphic Design. He earned his B.F.A. from the University of the Arts, where he also taught design and is a senior design critic. Jerome also earned his MPS from Pratt Institute in New York City.
