The City of Baltimore offers a stunning 6,000 acres of parkland and public space. CG was selected by Baltimore’s Department of Recreation and Parks to assist with ongoing design projects for the system. The first assignment, the historic Cylburn Arboretum, is on the list of Baltimore National Heritage Areas; the arboretum began in 1888 as the private estate of businessman and importer Jesse Tyson.
CG designed identification, interpretive and wayfinding signage for the beautiful 200-acre public garden and Renaissance Revival mansion. Designers integrated graphic elements that reflect the nature and scenery of the arboretum while developing a comprehensive wayfinding plan.
Notable: Cylburn’s nature preserve includes a 3-mile trail through a mature Piedmont forest.
