Dr. Peter Hecht is a valuable asset on complex healthcare, museum and educational projects. An environmental psychologist with expertise in human factors, cognition and user behavior, Dr. Hecht ensures that wayfinding plans respond to each client’s unique physical setting and visitor needs.
Dr. Hecht works with the design team to assess the needs of visitors as well as client staff, leading to wayfinding strategies and design ideas that are rooted in research and responsive for all concerned. He is also an expert in testing and evaluation, a key step in the design process.
Peter holds a PhD in psychology and has spent the last two decades consulting, researching and teaching in the fields of design and behavior. Formerly Director of Research for Project for Public Spaces, he is a member and former officer of the Environmental Design Research Association and a member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society.
